The Mad Cat have breathed for the last time
After being lucky to get my hands on right about the semi-last SE FightStick in Denmark (i’ll get back to this), i came home, plugged it in, only to realize i wasn’t as lucky as i thought… the Y-button didn’t work!!!
Called EBGames, who couldn’t say whether or not they would receive any more units, since it’s limited edition and was a pre-order item only for the Street Fighter IV launch.
Mailed Mad Catz. Asking for a swap to a working unit. They responded in less than 2 hours, asking me to reply with information about the unit’s problem, purchase date and other info, stating they would process the information and get back to me ASAP with info on how to ship the broken unit their way.
Fair to say, I was pleased to see this kind of service, and hurried to reply with the info they requested.
8 days have passed and still no further reply with instruction on how to ship the broken unit to them…
I’m sure they are busy, so let’s forget about the MAd Cat for a sec and focus on the “broken unit”.
My friend who was lucky to get the very last FightStick had it working, but was complaining about the stick feeling sticky… With help from Google and the Shoryuken forum, did we figure out the SE FightStick wasn’t trouble-free.
Sanwa parts were ordered from arcadeshop.de and today i swapped out the Mad Catz parts with the Sanwa parts, creating a monster of an arcadestick for PC and Xbox 360.
The Sanwa stick is so much more delicate and nice to use than the sticky and rigid MadCatz stick.
Here is the wonder, Sanwa style! :=)

oh… forgot to mention… got a yellow and a pink balltop too ![]()
